SWIMRUN CHEERS” Regulation – 15/06/2019

  1. ORGANISERS

CASC SWIMRUN CHEERS (headquarter in Via Leopardi 24, 28053 Castelletto Sopra Ticino (NO). VAT 94080830030) is organizing the third edition of the so-called SWIMRUN CHEERS Race, namely consecutive swimming and running. This will take place on June 9th 2018, with both start and finish point in Stresa. The route will pass through the Borromeo gulf, Isola dei Pescatori, Isola Madre, Suna, Verbania Pallanza, Fondotoce, Mergozzo, Feriolo, Baveno and Someraro, before reaching Stresa.

  1. “SWIMRUN CHEERS” REGISTRATION

For organizational reasons the number of participants will be limited to 300 units.

Registration is open to whoever is at least 18 years old.

All athletes will receive an ASI card (type B) for insurance reason.

For all Italian residents it is mandatory to have a competitive medical certificate for one of the following disciplines: swimming, light athletics, running and triathlon, also valid for the current year.

2.1 REGISTRATION

You can register

-either online at the website www.mysdam.net, paying by credit card, paypal or with a direct bank

transfer;

– or by sending a fully completed registration form via email to the registration address otcsrl@swimruncheers.com and attaching the copy of your bank transfer in favor of OTC Srl. Purpose of payment: SWIMRUN CHEERS (athletes name)

Entries without payment, registration form and regulation documents duly completed or entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered. The race day will be mandatory sign privacy and disclaimer form.

The registration for both IRON and SHORT races closes at midnight on Thursday, May 30th 2019 or if the 300 units are reached.

The registration fee follows the discount chart below:

The registration fee for both (IRON & SHORT) includes:

– swimming cap, bib + sponsor materials (they will remain to the member¸

– medical/security assistance throughout the race, refreshments;

– buffet on arrival;

– insurance;

– 5 voucher in total for beer, 0,20cl each) and 2 vouchers for the street food at Village Street Food… Cheers – Hotel Regina Palace gardens, Stresa.

Registration is personal and not transferable. A 50% refund will be paid with the mandatory provision of a medical certificate no later than one month before the race, without delivery of the race kit.

Compulsory appointments for the athletes. The non-participation will result in your

disqualification from the race.

June 14th 2019 at Palazzina Liberty, Via de Amicis Stresa:

– from 17.00 to 18.00: race kit distribution

– 18.30 race briefing held by the organizers

June 15th, 2019:

– 06.00 athletes will be transported from parking Giardini di Villa Pallavicino to the Verbano Yacht Club via shuttle;

– 06:30am race briefing held by the Police force, at Verbano Yacht Club;

– 07:00am starting of the IRON race at Verbano Yacht Club (parking spots in the Gardens of Villa Pallavicino);

– 07:30am athlets of the SHORT race will be transported from the Yacht Club to Mergozzo

– 09:00am starting of the SHORT race at Mergozzo, Piazza Cavour;

– 03:30pm end of race (no showers will be available)

– 04:00pm award ceremony.

2.2 Insurance

Insurance coverage (only for type B card holders, CASC Swimrun Cheers members)

– Death 80.000€

– Permanent invalidity due to injury: 100.000€ ANIA chart, deductible 7%

– Refund for medical expenses: up to 2.500€ – uncovered 10%, minimum 250€

– cast allowance: 20€. Up to 10 days, deductible 5 days.

– Hospitalization allowance: 30€. Up to 30 days, deductible 5 days.

In case of accident concerning both hospitalization and cast allowance, the total daily allowance

payable by the Society won’t exceed, under any circumstances, 30€.

Warranties for “Medical expenses refund”, “Cast allowance” and “Hospitalization allowance” will

be applied exclusively in case of injuries involving more than 4%. To identify the kind of injury,

please consult the policy annex “chart A” on the website www.asinazionale.it

The Society will take care of reimbursements only when the treatment is finalized. It is also subject

to the presentation of the clinical briefcase and documentation for expenditures in original.

2.3 TIMING

VENTI5 will provide the electronic time-recording by Q-code.

  1. MANDATORY/OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT

Each competitor must complete the race with the same clothing and equipment that they were wearing at the start of the race. Leaving any part of the equipment along the way, will lead to disqualification.

– Anything that is not specified at points 3.1 and 3.2 is prohibited.

– It’s forbidden to run bare-chested.

3.1 MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

The mandatory equipment will be verified before departure. It consists of:

  1. a red swimming cap, provided by the organizers;
  2. wetsuit;
  3. bodysuit;
  4. a pull buoy, tied to the thigh;
  5. running shoes, to be worn at all times;
  6. bib always wore;

3.2 OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT

The optional equipment consists of:

  1. goggles;
  2. paddle
  1. IRON HARD

The entire itinerary surveys around 50.071 m. The total distance is given by adding together both the 8 swimming fractions(ca. 11.101 m.) and the 8 running fractions(38.970 m.).

Entrance and exit points of the swimming segments are marked by buoys as well as flags.

Assistance with boats, canoes and police presence is foreseen along the entire route.

The starting and finishing points of the running segments are marked by signs, white and red flags, advertisement banners. The assistance of voluntary staff will be available along each segment.

Refreshment will be provided at the following segments:

Run 4/Run 5/Run 6/Run 7/Run 8 (2 refreshment stations)

If requested, the athletes can leave their own products at these refreshments.

Medical assistance is guaranteed all along the route, both in water and on land. Competitors who do not follow the itinerary will be immediately disqualified.

Three timed gates (Cut Off) are foreseen along the route, precisely:

  1. at the beginning of RUN 4 in Verbania Suna, maximum time from departure 2h 45m (at 09:45am);
  2. at the end SWIM 6 at Mergozzo, maximum time from departure 4.30h (11:30am);
  3. at the end RUN 7 at Baveno, maximum time from departure 6.20h (01:20pm).

Whoever arrives at the Cut Off points after the indicated times will be disqualified and transported to the arrival point.

End of the race: 6pm

4a. IRON ROUTE

The entire itinerary surveys around 37.371 m. The total distance is given by adding together both the 8 swimming fractions(ca. 11.101 m.) and the 8 running fractions(26.270 m.).

Entrance and exit points of the swimming segments are marked by buoys as well as flags.

Assistance with boats, canoes and police presence is foreseen along the entire route.

The starting and finishing points of the running segments are marked by signs, white and red flags, advertisement banners. The assistance of voluntary staff will be available along each segment.

Refreshment will be provided at the following segments:

Run 4/Run 5/Run 6/Run 7/Run 8

If requested, the athletes can leave their own products at these refreshments.

Medical assistance is guaranteed all along the route, both in water and on land. Competitors who do not follow the itinerary will be immediately disqualified.

4b. SHORT ROUTE

The entire itinerary surveys about 26.134 m.

The total distance is given by adding together both the 4 swimming fractions (ca. 4.174 m.)and

the 4 running fractions (21.960 m.).See detailed chart below.

The entrance and exit points of the swimming segments are marked by buoys as well as flags.

Assistance with boats, canoes and police presence is foreseen along the entire route.

The starting and finishing points of the running segments are marked by signs, striped flags; the assistance of voluntary staff will be available along each segment.

Refreshment will be provided at the following segments:

Run 6/Run 7/Run 8

If requested, the athletes can leave their own products at these refreshments.

Medical assistance is guaranteed all along the route, both in water and on land. Competitors who do not follow the itinerary will be immediately disqualified.

Only one timed gate (Cut Off) is foreseen along the route, to be precise:

  1. At the end of RUN 3 (RUN 7/ for the Iron route) at Baveno, maximum time from departure 2h (12:00 pm);

Whoever arrives at the Cut Off points after the indicated times will be disqualified and transported to the arrival point.

  1. CONDUCT AND LIABILITY OF PARTICIPANTS
  2. a) The race, non competitive, is a swimrun, that consists in the completion of all segments for Race HARD/IRON/SHORT, without changing areas; which means that competitors will have to complete the entire itinerary dressed as they were at the starting point by 8pm. They will swim with their running shoes and run wearing their bodysuit, pull buoy, swim cap and whatever is provided for at point 3.1 of the present regulations.

In the swimming segments it’s compulsory to follow the buoys and the indications of the assistants, as it is in the running segments to follow the duly indicated route, Paying attention to the areas whit road traffic. Competitors who are found not following the official route will be immediately disqualified.

  1. b) Each participant is required to know the established rules, subscribe to and respect them.

Penalty, immediate disqualification.

  1. c) Each participant has to follow the instructions given by the assistants, all along the route.
  1. d) Each participant has to respect all environment along the entire route and without

damaging it in any way. Each participant is asked to respect the common areas, being careful not to throw empty energy-booster wrappers used during the test and/or at refreshment points. All waste should be placed in the sevral bins provided along the route and/or at refreshment points.

  1. e) Each participant is required to respect the other competitors, without obstructing the race. If someone is in difficulty it’s mandatory to provide immediate assistance and to tell the assistants that help is needed.
  1. f) Each participant is obliged to sign all the documents required in the registration form (Liability Release Declaration having read the regulations, Privacy document, agonistic medical certificate as indicated or Medical Insurance for not Italian citizens) and deliver them duly completed in a legible way.
  1. g) Each participant is responsible for him/herself. If during the race he or she should deem it necessary to withdraw, being unable to complete the test, this should be immediately communicated to the nearest assistant and they will be brought back to the point of arrival as soon as possible.
  1. h) It’s prohibited to receive outside assistance to complete the race.
  1. i) The race participants, by registering, consent to the use of images recorded during the

event.

  1. j) A final ranking will be drawn up.
  1. PRIZEGIVING

The organizers will distribute prizes among the 300 participants. These will not be based on the arrival ranking, they are indeed “solidarity” prizes like, for example: one for the youngest participant, one for the participant that comes from further away or for the one for “the highest” date of birth. Prize categories will be revealed the same day.

  1. CANCELLATION OF THE RACE AND/OR CHANGES IN THE PROGRAMME

The organizers in collaboration with the Police Force reserve the right to change the starting times of the race and/or cancel it in case of adverse weather conditions which could endanger the normal running of the event and put the safety of participants at risk. In the case of cancellation of the race by the organizers for safety reasons, the entry fee will not be refunded.
